I'm a mom of 2 awesome kids, in my late forties (as of 2013 when this is being written) and among the things I love to do is running (some of the others include writing, cooking, painting, fishing and knitting) I am a fan of Dobermans, sushi, vampires, shiny things and alpacas. I'm a vegetarian (though I still eat fish and seafood, just not meat) and an Episcopalian. I work as an Executive Assistant. I love my family and my friends dearly. My running playlists are about as eclectic as you can get.
I run slow. But that's okay, because, hey, I'm still running. When I'm out running and someone zips past me like I'm standing still, I simply think to myself, "they must not be going as far as I am." (They probably are, but it gets me past the mental hurdle).
Running is every bit as much in your head as it is in your legs. And while I am certain there will come a day when I can no longer run, today isn't it.
